Personality Path

Terms of Use and Sale

Last updated 20 October 2026

Each section opens with a short summary in italics. The summaries help you read; the full text is what counts.

1. Who we are and when these terms apply

In short: these terms cover personalitypath.com and the Personality Path app, for individuals and for coaches and organisations.

Personality Path is operated by Path GmbH, Ottobrunner Str. 11, 81737 München, Germany ("we", "us"). Full company details are in our Legal Notice.

These terms apply to the website personalitypath.com and the app at app.personalitypath.com (together, the "Service"), including the free test, free accounts, paid reports, coach workspaces and team reports.

You are a "consumer" if you use the Service mainly for private purposes. You are a "business customer" if you use it for your trade, business or profession, for example as a coach, consultant or company. Some sections apply only to one group; they say so.

We do not accept different terms from business customers unless we agree to them in writing.

2. What Personality Path is, and what it is not

In short: a tool for self-reflection and growth. Not a diagnosis, not therapy, not a hiring test.

Personality Path helps you explore your personality with the Enneagram. Our test results, type descriptions and reports describe common patterns. They are a starting point for reflection, not a verdict about who you are.

  • Not medical or psychological advice. Nothing in the Service is a clinical, diagnostic or therapeutic assessment. If you are struggling with your mental health, please talk to a doctor or qualified therapist.
  • No guarantee of accuracy. Self-report tests can be wrong. You know yourself best; if a result doesn't fit, trust your own judgement.
  • Not for selection decisions. You may not use results to decide on hiring, promotion, pay, performance ratings or dismissal of any person. Team and coaching use for development and communication is welcome (see sections 9 and 10).
  • Your decisions are yours. What you do with the insights is up to you. We are not responsible for decisions you or others make based on results, subject to section 13.

3. Age

In short: 16+ to use Personality Path, 18+ to buy (or with a parent's OK).

You must be at least 16 to take the test or create an account, and at least 18 to buy anything, unless a parent or guardian has agreed to the purchase. By using the Service you confirm that you are.

4. Your account

In short: keep your login safe, one account per person, and you can delete it any time.

You can take the free test without an account. Without an account, your result is deleted after 24 hours. With a free account, your results are saved until you delete them.

Please give accurate information and keep your login details to yourself. Tell us at hello@personalitypath.com if you think someone else has access to your account.

You can delete your account at any time in your account settings. We may suspend or close an account if it is used in breach of these terms, after warning you where reasonable. If we close a paid account without good cause, we refund any prepaid, unused part of what you paid.

5. Buying reports and add-ons

In short: you see the price before you pay, you pay once, and your report is ready right away.

Products. We sell digital reports (currently the Basic Report, the Full Report and the Workbook add-on) and, for business customers, report credits and a yearly coach plan. What each product includes is described on its product page at the time of purchase.

Prices. Prices are shown before you order, in US dollars or euros. For consumers, prices include VAT where it applies. For business customers, prices are net; VAT is added where required, or the reverse-charge rule applies. Payments for individual reports are one-time payments, never a subscription.

How the contract is made. Product pages are an invitation to order, not a binding offer. You make an offer by clicking the payment button labelled "Buy now". Before that, you can review and correct your order and your details in the checkout. The contract is made when we confirm your order by email or make your report available, whichever comes first.

Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. If a payment is reversed or charged back without good reason, we may block access to the related content until the matter is resolved.

Delivery. Your report is available in your account immediately after payment and we send you a link by email. Contract language is English. We save your order details and send them to you in the order confirmation; these terms are always available at personalitypath.com/terms.

6. Your right of withdrawal (consumers)

In short: you normally have 14 days to cancel online purchases. For our reports, that right ends when you ask us to deliver immediately and confirm you know you'll lose it, which you do at checkout.

As a consumer you have the following right of withdrawal.

Withdrawal information

Right of withdrawal. You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day the contract is concluded. To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Path GmbH, Ottobrunner Str. 11, 81737 München, Germany, hello@personalitypath.com) by a clear statement, for example an email, of your decision to withdraw. You can also withdraw with the "Withdraw from contract" button in the footer of every page and in your account; we confirm receipt by email straight away. You can use the model withdrawal form below, but you don't have to. To meet the deadline, it is enough to send your notice before the withdrawal period ends.

Consequences of withdrawal. If you withdraw, we refund all payments we received from you without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive your notice. We use the same payment method you used, unless we expressly agree otherwise; you will not pay any fees for the refund.

Early expiry of the right of withdrawal. For digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium, your right of withdrawal expires once we have started delivering the content, if (1) you expressly agreed that we start before the withdrawal period ends, (2) you confirmed that you know you lose your right of withdrawal when delivery starts, and (3) we confirmed this to you on a durable medium, such as the order confirmation email.

At checkout you give this consent and confirmation by ticking a box. Because your report is generated and delivered immediately after payment, your right of withdrawal ends at that moment.

Model withdrawal form

(Complete and return this form only if you want to withdraw from the contract.)

To Path GmbH, Ottobrunner Str. 11, 81737 München, Germany, hello@personalitypath.com:
I/We (*) hereby give notice that I/we (*) withdraw from my/our (*) contract for the supply of the following digital content: …
Ordered on (*) / received on (*): …
Name of consumer(s): …
Address of consumer(s): …
Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is sent on paper): …
Date: …
(*) Delete as appropriate.

7. Refunds

In short: no refunds once your report has been delivered, but we always fix what's broken.

Because reports are personalised and delivered instantly, we do not offer refunds once a report has been delivered, including if you disagree with your result or change your mind.

This does not limit your legal rights. We refund you or make it right if:

  • you paid but did not receive the report and we cannot deliver it;
  • the report is faulty (for example incomplete or does not open) and we cannot fix it within a reasonable time;
  • you were charged twice or charged by mistake;
  • you withdraw within your withdrawal period before delivery has started (section 6).

Report credits for business customers are not refundable (section 9).

To report a problem, email hello@personalitypath.com with your order email address. Your statutory rights for faulty digital products (§§ 327 ff. BGB) remain unaffected.

8. Using reports: licence and copyright

In short: your report is for you. Coaches may use reports with their own clients.

All content of the Service, including test questions, scoring, type descriptions, reports and workbooks, belongs to Path GmbH or its licensors and is protected by copyright.

When you buy a report, you receive a personal, non-transferable right to read, download and print it for your own use. You may share your own report with people you choose, for example a partner, friend or therapist. You may not sell, publish, upload for public access or systematically reproduce reports or other content, or use them to build a competing product, train AI models or run automated data collection (scraping).

Coaches may use reports and content inside the Service with their clients as described in section 9.

9. Coaches and organisations (business customers)

In short: coaches buy credits, invite clients and decide when to release reports. They must handle their clients' data lawfully.

This section applies only to business customers.

Credits. Report credits are prepaid and used to assign reports to your clients or team members. Credits are valid for 5 years from the date of purchase and expire after that. Unused or expired credits are not refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash, except where the law requires.

Yearly coach plan. The optional coach plan is available only to business customers; we ask you to confirm this at checkout. It runs for 12 months and renews automatically for another 12 months unless you cancel before the end of the current term. You can cancel at any time with effect from the end of the term, in your account settings or by email. Plan benefits (such as your logo on reports, discounted credits and holding reports until you release them) are described on the pricing page at the time you buy.

Your clients' data. When you invite clients, you decide who is invited and when reports are released. You must have a lawful basis to invite clients, tell them that you will see their results, and follow applicable data protection law. Where we process client data on your behalf, our data processing agreement applies and forms part of this contract. Clients keep their own Personality Path account and can delete it at any time.

No selection use. You must not use results to make or support decisions about hiring, promotion, pay, performance ratings or dismissal. You indemnify us against claims by third parties, including your clients and team members, that arise because you breached data protection law or these terms, unless you are not responsible for the breach.

10. Team reports

In short: in a team, members see each other's types and results. Never your individual answers.

Team features (such as the Team Dynamics Report and one-on-one reports) show results of several people together.

  • What others see. When you join a team, the other team members and the person who set up the team can see your name, your type and the results shown in the team report. Your individual test answers are never shown to anyone.
  • Your choice. You join a team only by accepting an invitation, and you can leave a team at any time. When you leave, your results are removed from future versions of the team report.
  • Minimum size. A team report needs at least 3 members who have completed the test.
  • Access period. Each Full Report includes one year of access to team features. After that, the team owner can renew access for 0.5 credits per member per year.

11. Fair use

In short: use the Service as intended and respect other people.

You must not misuse the Service, in particular:

  • break or bypass security, overload our systems or access other people's accounts;
  • collect content or data automatically (scraping, bots), except normal search engine indexing;
  • take the test in someone else's name or invite people to teams without their knowledge;
  • use the Service for anything unlawful, harassing or discriminatory.

12. Availability and changes to the Service

In short: we keep things running and improving, and we tell you before changes that affect what you paid for.

We aim to keep the Service available around the clock but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access; maintenance and technical issues can cause short outages. We develop the Service further and may change features. We will not remove or materially worsen the content of a report you have already bought. Where changes to paid digital products are allowed by law (§ 327r BGB), we tell you in advance.

13. Liability

In short: we're fully liable where the law says we must be, and our liability is limited for minor slips.

We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and where we have given a guarantee.

For slight negligence, we are liable only if we breach an essential contractual obligation, meaning an obligation that makes proper performance of the contract possible and that you can regularly rely on. In that case our liability is limited to the damage that is typical and foreseeable for this type of contract.

For business customers, in cases of slight negligence our liability is also limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event causing the damage, and we are not liable for lost profits or indirect damage. These limitations also apply in favour of our employees and agents. Your statutory rights as a consumer regarding faulty digital products remain unaffected.

14. Changes to these terms

In short: we tell you before changes take effect, and you can say no.

We may update these terms, for example when the law or our Service changes. For one-time purchases, the version in force when you bought applies. For ongoing contracts (accounts and coach plans), we email you the changes at least 6 weeks before they take effect. For business customers, the new terms apply if you do not object before then; we will point this out in the email. For consumers, changes to price or to the main features of the Service apply only if you actively agree. Other changes are limited to adapting to new law or new features and never reduce your rights. If you object, either side may end the contract at the time the change would have taken effect.

15. Law, jurisdiction and disputes

In short: German law applies, but you keep the consumer protections of your home country.

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country.

If you are a merchant (Kaufmann), a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Munich, Germany.

We are not willing or obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. Please contact us first; most issues are solved quickly by email.

16. Final provisions

If any provision of these terms is invalid, the rest remains in effect. These terms may be shown in other languages for convenience; the English version prevails.
